A series of 48 small sculptures formed from the fragile, forgotten remains of nature. Each piece was constructed from the scavenging of insect or animal parts from ones found dead or decayed. The magic of the new transformations presents these overlooked materials as something new to reflect on. I place these works under a term Joan Fontcuberta called “dada-biologic,” a word that refers to the Dada readymade. Instead of using found objects, I focus on organic materials to produce new configurations like poppy flower combined with walking insect legs as in “transformation 2/48”
